Midweek Randoms

Friday, I picked Reid up early from daycare and took him to get his hair cut. It was just getting a bit too scraggly and was hanging in his eyes. I didn't figure that could be comfy, especially with it being so hot now. SO - we bit the bullet and did it. It's already growing back out again.

Another picture of the new 'do.

Dac ended up going to help John, Anna, and Ruby move, so Reid and I went out to eat and to Wal-Mart with Dac's family. We spent our first night just the two of us and did just fine.

Saturday, we picked Kayla (and donuts) up and dropped Reid off with my parents so Kayla and I could have our fun day. We did lots of chatting, got our toes did, ate lunch at McAlisters, and shopped! We mostly bought for the kids (go figure) but I did manage to find me a swimsuit that doesn't cut off my circulation. =) Being fat sucks, that's all there is to it.

Dac got back to town (and so did we) just in time to attend a church cookout for our pastor that's leaving. We strolled over to the park, ate some grub, chatted, and strolled back. I think these two missed each other. =)

Reid is getting his top two middle teeth. They are RIGHT there. Not where you can feel the sharpness yet, but you can definitely see them. He also started army-crawling over the weekend.

I like this picture because it perfectly illustrates how Reid does NOT sit still. Not even for a second.

Ornery little booger.

Sunday was.... MY BIRTHDAY! =D Dac and Reid took me out for breakfast before church.

Dac got an omelet...

I got my usual - a big ol' pancake and one egg over hard. These pancakes are second only to Grandma's.

Reid had... well... his foot. =) He found his feet a long time ago but has just recently learned to put them in his mouth.

After church, there was a little wedding shower for a young couple who recently started going to our church. They're super nice and down-to-earth. Anyway, Jill (the bride) also got baptized that morning. It was emotional and meaningful - just like a baptism should be. Very cool.

After church we went out for Mexican food and I was serenaded by my amigos.

Later, we went to my grandparents' house to take a picture of them for their 60th anniversary. We stayed and visited with my grandma for a bit, so that was nice. I also got to chat with my Grandma B. that day which was also fantastic!

Monday, I went to get gas and had these (brownies) waiting for me to take back to work. Birthday treats - I like it. =)

They did not disappoint.

I love his little fuzzy head and the way his butt is always up in the air.

I had a Board meeting Monday but I got home in time to put him to bed. He was so sleepy and fell asleep the second he was done eating (he has his mom's priorities). I just ate up the little bit of cuddle time we got that night. Even documented it...

I love having a boy. I really do. It was just meant to be. BUT - it seems a lot of girls are more still and cuddly. He does NOT have time for that. I kind of miss it but I also love how busy and active he is. He'll keep us on our toes for sure.

While feeding him dinner Tuesday, I gave him a little bit of water in a sippy cup - just so he can practice using it. He loved chewing on it but didn't really drink from it. The spout seemed a bit big for his mouth so we'll probably try a few other styles too.

Another sign of big-boy-ness. It'll be a while before we switch him to this but I got it while it was on sale for 30% off.

Tuesday evening we finally got the chance to go cheer Charli on at her T-ball game. =)
