It was a busy week around our house.
Last Wednesday, the girls in my office took our tech director out for supper to celebrate his retirement. It was fun and was stormin' like crazy when we left.
The next day my little man turned 6-months old. Holy moly where has the time gone? He makes everything better with his smile. =)
We had Wii night that evening.
The next day was Reid's last day at Cori's. =( Cori has been absolutely wonderful and has taken care of him and loved him just like he was one of her own. We couldn't have been more happy with the arrangement but it was always just a temporary one. I'm sure Reid misses her and his buddies but he still sees them fairly often. =)
Friends.
I braved the winds and rains to drive to Wichita for a farewell lunch for one of my KanSPRA colleagues. KanSPRA is the Kansas School PR group I'm very involved in. We ate at Cafe Bel Ami in downtown Wichita and had a great time. I even got to catch up with my friend Michelle who had her daughter exactly one month after I had Reid. We hadn't seen each other since the Fall Conference back in October... the one where I got sent to the hospital for extreme swelling. Oy.
We got a huge blessing last week too. Cori sent me home with a TON of baby food that the girls just weren't going to use. I bet we won't have to buy more!
The company Puj - sent me a hooded bath towel to review (still need to do that, but I do love the towel!) and this Puj Nub. It's a sticky hook to put on smooth surfaces. I've seen it used a lot of ways, but I decided I wanted to use it like this:
Also, here's a look at the baby food I've made so far...
In other feeding news... Reid is almost completely on formula now. I started weaning a couple weeks ago and thanks to my need for allergy meds and steroids, I'm down to pumping once per day. He's still getting at least one bottle of breast milk per day but otherwise, formula is our friend. I'll be posting another "Being Mama" post on my exclusively pumping journey soon.
#throwbackthursday?? My cousin Courtney sent this photo of me from my high school days. Look out Britney Spears. =) I do miss that body though. I'd totally settle for an older, slightly thicker one even. =)
This guy just melts my heart. Every. Single. Day. He loves to blow bubbles. =)
Eating breakfast on his half-birthday. =)
I attempted Reid's 6-month session Friday night but due to a cranky babe and tons of mosquitos it was a fail.
Saturday, we did a newborn session in Wichita, ate Jimmie Johns, and then later, I went out for a girls night.
Sunday, I re-did Reid's photos that morning and got some cute ones. =) We went to lunch at my grandparents' to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. 60 years... ain't that somethin'!?
We snapped a few group shots that day. Here's a back-of-the-camera shot of us with my parents.
Monday was a wild, emotional day. Reid started going to his new daycare lady - Connie. Now, we know Connie and she's great - so it wasn't that. I think it was just the change and of course I worried about him with the change and just felt a lot of those same emotions I felt the day I first sent him to Cori's. I felt like a complete fail and hated that I was going to work instead of being with my little man. Rough day. BUT - the good news is, Reid was just fine and seemed to enjoy himself. I'm thankful to have an easy going baby and it also makes all that "preparation for independence" stuff I've done seem a little more worthwhile. haha!
That night we took the twins' 1-year pictures. I could tell all kinds of stories about that but what matters is that we were with friends, we got some cute shots, and I had a margarita at the end of the day! haha! =)
Aunties Val and Cori got Reid his first toy cars. We had some playtime before work one day this week and I think he likes them!

In other news, I've been watching The Shield at night on Hulu.
