We clearly had a big week last week and I'm just now getting around to posting about Thanksgiving.
First up was lunch at my Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a good time visiting, feeding our faces, and Reid is at an age where he really enjoys the other kids.
Reid with my Dad.
The feast
The part of the table I hang out by. =)
Then, it was off to Dac's parents' house for round two. We had delicious eats there too and I got to help feed Eden and Britton.
Charli helped Reid open a couple early birthday presents.
And the 'babies' took turns cruising around.
Reid's first Thanksgiving was a good one. He sampled a little bit of everything and we had a great time with our families.
Friday, I can't remember for sure what we did besides hang out and play around the house that morning. Then, after lunch, Val and I went to the church to decorate for Reid's party. We were gone, oh, I don't know, like FOUR hours or something ridiculous like that. Ha! We were streamered out but the party turned out pretty cute so I guess it was worth it. ;) I'll share pictures from that soon.
That evening we went out to eat with my parents. That was the first time I'd ordered something off the menu for Reid. Big boy. He had a sweet potato and my mom shared some of her green beans and chicken. When we got home I soaked up every bit of babyness I could. I held him while he drank his last bedtime bottle.
And cried while I read this book to him.
And gave him extra hugs and kisses before putting him to bed.
Then I watched Garth live on TV. =) LOVE Garth Brooks and he still has it!
The next day was wild and crazy. Reid turned one (sniffle) and we celebrated with a big party. I'm such a "small get-together" kind of girl but with two big families, that's harder than one might think. That's just all the more blessings, right? Right.
After his party, we went out to eat with Dac's family, then Reid went down for a looooong, much needed nap. When he woke up he made his way around the family room checking out his new treasures. =)
It looked a little something like this.
Needless to say everyone was beyond generous to him and he is mighty spoiled.
Sunday, we went to church. Cute, no?
He and Felicity even matched. =)
That night, we took his one-year photos and I'll share those soon too. Then, it was back to the grindstone. It was a great weekend I didn't want to see go. Monday, Reid had his first real breakfast before heading to Connie's. He enjoyed scrambled eggs and bananas.
The next day it was cheesy scrambled eggs and avocado.
I don't know why I insist on taking (and sharing) photos of him eating all the time, but I do. =) Last night we had to go to the store after work so I picked up a rotisserie chicken and that's just what this tired girl (and apparently this little guy) needed.
Annnnnd back to breakfast. This morning he was way serious about his hard boiled egg and kiwi. ;)
So yeah, breakfast has gone well and he's transitioned nicely all the way around. Sure, he's had a lot of eggs this week but I'm sure I'll get more creative eventually. =)
In other news, I've officially started my Christmas shopping! Gold star! =) I am not, however, decorating for Christmas this year. =( Next year though, look out!
