Midweek Randoms

  • Last Wednesday I had a church meeting - to meet the new pastor joining us this summer. Before that meeting Kayla and I got supper. We don't get to chat much, so that was nice.
  • Thursday, we had my parents over for dinner. We had grilled porkchops marinated in the Tastefully Simple Honey Apple Grill Sauce. YUM! We also had sweet potatoes, applesauce, green beans, and dessert! =) Duh, dessert.
  • Friday, Dac and I met for a lunch date at the newer little asian place in town. I got a couple egg rolls and fried rice. Not bad.
  • Saturday we did stuff around the house. Dac did yard work and photos, while I cooked, clean, did laundry (all the usual suspects), went to the store, walked, and spent loads of much needed time with Reid. I wish more Saturdays could be like that... or better yet... weekdays!! =)
  • I've been fighting the good ol' allergies and sinus stuff again. I woke up Sunday in pretty bad shape so we skipped church. That afternoon and evening, Dac had soccer games. Reid and I went to the church later for the young adult thing we've started having there. We're about to start Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. I think it'll be good. Dac and I took the Crown Financial Bible study when we were engaged and it was really helpful in starting us out on the right foot and helping us get and stay (so far) debt free (aside from the house payment and occasional big medical bills). BUT a few lay-offs later, we're over-spending again and could use a refresher course.
  • Reid is a rolly polly these days. He's been working on mastering the roll and by golly, I think he's got it.
  • He's so proud of himself.
  • and happy... love getting these pictures while at work.
  • He is also sitting like a big boy these days.
  • I leave home with this each morning. It's annoying. Purse, pump bag, Reid's daycare bag, and my milk bag... plus his carseat with his little tank self in it. I get my arm workout at least! =)

  • My baby now sleeps on his belly. I fought it but here we are.

  • Trying to eat a little better... here's one meal this week: asian grilled salmon and sesame broccoli.
  • I made these tasty (and not quite as healthy) meatloaf muffins and mac-n-cheese muffins (tried to include a little spinach) to take for lunches this week.
  • Here's our first experience with a bountiful basket. Cori is considering establishing a site here in town. We got all of this for under $20.
  • I made some apple dip to go with the new fruits! Very tasty.
  • Reid enjoys his time at daycare. Here he is with his little buddy Eden. She adores him and I think he must kind of like her too. =)
  • Here he is chatting with Britton.
  • Another healthy meal: spinach and mushroom crustless quiche with a side of tomatoes.
  • This weekend, Reid and I went for a walk. We walked for about an hour (oh my goodness I'm so out of shape... not cool). We walked to Walgreens to get some Kleenex. I loved getting him out and he seemed to enjoy the ride. Hopefully there will be lots more strolls for us in the near future!
  • After supper last night and after everything was all cleaned up and ready for today, I had Reid playing on his play mat. He decided he wanted me to hold him (what a shame) and so I did. We watched Body of Proof with him just as content as could be sitting on my lap. I kind of loved it. Sure, the house may still need cleaned but I enjoyed my evening with the little man. News Flash, the house always needs cleaned. Give it up already. =)
