2014 DIP Family Reunion

Each year Dac's extended family gets together for a reunion at Camp Horizon. It involves families of Grandma Jo and her siblings. We eat, swim, some play disc golf, some hike, some kayak down the river, some play games, etc... good times.

Here's some pictures Aunt Darla took. I don't think I took a single one! Fail. So thankful for the others that capture memories.

Here is Dac's generation plus spouses.
Journey
Amanda did massages! Yeah!!
Dac and our little buddy.
Our fam.
Dac's Dad's generation plus spouses.

Grandma Jo's generation minus siblings that have passed away. They're ornery so we get along quite nicely. =)
Reid going down the slide while cousin Lily watches.
My little beach bum looking way too old for his britches.
Part of the family playing a game.
Getting cleaned up after a messy date with the sand box.

Reid's generation. =)
=)
Aldrick was cracking me up as he put his noodles on the skewer.
Uncle Don's family.

I often will see a picture of me and cringe. It's kind of a "is that really me and how did I get here?" thought. ha! I want to post them anyway because, for one, I'm usually the one behind the camera AND because I want Reid to always have these pictures. To know I was there and happy to be with him. =) I don't pay attention to or care about my mom's weight in pictures from my childhood. I just notice she had a smile on her face when she was playing with me. The extra pounds are part of the right now ME and that's just the ME he should remember. The mom to his 19-month old, very loved self.

More fun.

Midweek Randoms

Not much new to report here - just the same ol' same ol'.

Still working, still cleaning house, still doing lots of other things and yet not some of the things I should be. The usual. =)

Reid's still exploring...
 Being cute...
And reading his books... he wants us to tell him the word for each picture over, and over, and over again.

We celebrated the 4th of July with my parents. Had a nice cookout and played some scrabble.

My dad helped me with my first target practice. =) Shot a couple pistols and while my shooting certainly wasn't consistent, I'd say I got the job done. Could have been worse as a first-timer.

The next day I went with my mom, aunt, and grandma for an old school shopping trip! =) There's always lots of laughing and there's usually an ice cream cone on the way home too. ;) We don't get to do that enough.

I've been planning for an upcoming business trip to Baltimore. This will be my first time to fly alone and my first time to attempt doing only carry on luggage. Might as well get both under my belt at the same time, right? While I'm not much looking forward to the actual travel part, I always enjoy seeing a new city, its culture, and its eats. ;)

More 18-month Fun

Here are a few more shots from Reid's 18th month of life. =) The ones in the pink-ish shirt are from his actual 18-month session... if you can call it that. ;) The others are fun outtakes I got while trying to get his 18-month photo you saw on the last post. Love love love this little man.

Being so super cooperative...
Showing me where his ear is...
Playing with the Cookie Monster that was his Aunt Courtney's when she was little.
These book ones are perfect for where he is right now... lots of "reading" books upside down and pointing at pictures and asking "and that?" or calling any living creature "puppy".

He rarely sits still for anything other than snacks.

 Such a great belly laugh.
