Month 4

Hey buddy,

You sir, are getting cooler and more fun every day. I didn't even know it was possible to be more awesome than you already were. =) Your smile melts my heart and that laugh is contagious.

I miss you so much when we're apart - which, quite frankly - is far too much for my liking.

I can't get over how much you learn every day. You're constantly growing and learning something new. It is so much fun to watch! I can see you becoming more independent. I think you're too big for your own britches too. I can tell you want to do more than you currently can. No hurry, you'll get it and that determination is a great quality to have.

Your current favorite activities are snuggling with me (though you don't sit still for long these days), talking to us, laughing at your Dad being silly, being tickled, bath time, and putting everything in your mouth.

I can't wait to see what this next month brings.

Love you SO much,
Mama
  • You really love to giggle and belly laugh.
  • You've started doing more with your hands. You seem to like feeling different textures and have begun grasping better.
  • We dropped the swaddle, switched you to a sleep sack, and began sleep training routine-ing.
  • You started caring more about your pacifier.
  • You continued PT and chiropractor appt's and made huge improvements.
  • You finally rolled for me!!! =)
  • You took your first bath in the tub.
  • You wore primarily 3-6 and 6-9 month clothes.
  • You wore size 2 diapers.
  • You still have beautiful blue eyes.
  • You started batting at toys, grasping them, and pulling them to your mouth.
  • You drank 4.5oz bottles, then later 6oz - still breast milk.
  • You loved to look at yourself in the mirror.
  • You continued talking and even mimicked our sounds
  • We dropped your night feeding(s).
  • You, for all intensive purposes, slept through the night for the first time!
  • You got another little cold and sounded like Peety with your stuffy nose.
  • You really started to drool and chew
  • You weighed 17lbs at your 4-month appt, measured 26in, and your head was basically at the 100th percentile. =)

Easter 2013

This was taken at Dac's parents house when we celebrated Easter with them a week early. He got some cool shades and a hat from them - and some candy that I quickly scarfed down before he could miss it.

Looking rather dapper on a fine Easter morning.

Reid with his basket. He got all kinds of goodies. I got the "basket" itself from Thirty One Bags and got it to match his room so it can be used for toy storage now. I got him two limited edition Bum Genius diapers, a teether, keys, shorts, Dr. Seuss board book "All the Thinks You Can Think". He also got some cereal for when we start on that. I think he was pleased.

Here's a close shot of one of the diapers. Fun, no?

Here he is "hunting" eggs after church.

Terese picked these beauties up for him so I decided, against my better judgement... why not? =)

We went to Good Friday service (it may be morbid, but it's one of my most favorite services during the year - that and Christmas Eve). I have a slightly better feel this year for what it must have felt like for God to give up his son - have him killed. I still can't grasp it. Thankfully, I just need to believe it and be thankful for it - which I am. Saturday, Matt stopped by to say hey so that was fun. =) But of course we missed Kelly. =( We also had photos so Aunt Val came and watched Reid. Then we cooked out and watched WSU play.

Sunday, we skipped Sunrise Service even though we were up for it. But went to regular service before heading out to Grandma Millie's for a yummy lunch. Reid, again, "hunted" eggs and got some money for his piggy bank. He also got a fun outfit and toy from his Grandma and Grandpa.

Still catching up...

I realize I haven't even talked about Christmas yet but we're skipping ahead for now. Matt and Kelly were over for New Years. We went over to Matt's parents house for dinner then they came to our place to hang out for a while and pose with this guy.

The rest of these aren't necessarily in order. On this particular day, we had a photo session so Val came over and watched him. Dac just happened to take a few snaps when we got home.

Sky came to visit around Christmas too. It had been a long time since I'd seen her so that was a lot of fun.

Such a happy boy.

Back around 3-months before we stopped swaddling.

Sky and I again. This photo was used in a newspaper article about us.

=)

Bath time. He pretty well outgrew the sink quite a while back but we still use it, haha!

I. Die.

Gigglebox

I took this video a while back when I stayed home sick with Reid. He obviously was NOT sick. =)

Insta-Dump

Here's a huge collection of sub-par photos from my instagram! =) These range back several weeks. Oy! Maybe I'll be better and do this each week from now on! ha! Oh - and again - these aren't necessarily in order.

Reid's first nap in his crib (listening to rain sounds of course!)

1-month checkup.

Crazy hair day with the sweet monster Kelly made just for him. =) New Years Eve.

Sky came to visit!

A little TV time with Dad.

Oh so sweet - and one of my favs.

His cute little cinnamon roll belly button!

Protective Peety

Brothers!

So little. Sneaking in extra cuddles.

The product of Reid and I's first trip to Wal-Mart by ourselves. I'm not saying being a stay at home mom is all butterflies and roses, but there is something to be said about being able to go to the store in the morning and beat the crowds!

Testing out the video monitor

First story time.

=)

Another fav...

During that hard phase where Reid insisted on being held all day long. The growth spurts can be killer.

Another fav.

Trip to Wichita Brewing Co.

 My Valentine

Apparently they thought they were sleepy.

Happy and healthy as a horse the day of his 2-month appt.

Another fav. Sleepy swaddled boy.

Changing out photos at work.
 First ride

First time in cloth.

We were happy it was Friday and we'd get to spend a couple days together!

love

Sick boy taking a looooooooong afternoon nap

sick day

Grandma Millie brought chicken-n-noodles and pie to help us feel better. =)

Happy we're raisin' him right! Go Pokes.

Playing with Grandpa

=)

First time going to church

Headed to Stilly.

Came to work with me before a chiropractor appt. Work is much more enjoyable when I get to see his sweet face.

Bad Brad's

Techie

My first boy.

First trip to PT

He always wiggles and curls his toes when he eats. =) It's a total body workout.

Dinner with Aunt Val

Me and my boy.

Easter. It gets me every time.

We are eating a lot of this these days...

Meeting Aunt Diana

Amazon orders just got a lot less cool. The fenugreek also marks the great milk draught of 2013.

Fresh out the bath. =)

=( Spilled milk.

Big guy.

He rolls!!

Ready for an adjustment.

Gigglebox

New hair!

Playing on his new mat

Fascinated by the babe in the mirror

Dad likes toys too. =)

We went to watch Dac's soccer game. Note the soccer hoodie AND the soccer paci. haha

Happy St. Patrick's Day. Muah!

Even after almost sleeping through the night, he was still a sleepy boy.
