Getting Personal

Well, it's a new year. Welcome 2011 and welcome to my brand spankin' new blog! I think it's only fitting that the first blog post talk about why I decided to tackle this project in the first place.

So, a little history:
I am a writer, a photographer, and a reporter at heart. I've always loved capturing memories and documenting them to look back on later. I used to have my camera out and working everywhere I went. Friends and family could not escape the inevitable "smile" when we were together.

Within a year after Dac and I got married, we put our photography business into motion and since then, I've rarely picked up a camera except for client work. We have very few pictures and definitely no scrapbook of sorts, to show our first married years together - and I just hate that!

Which leads me to:
My one official new years resolution was to start a personal blog in hopes that it would motivate me to take more pictures of/for us. I plan to blog very regularly and compile all the posts into a blog book at the end of each year.

This blog will be in addition to our photography blog (www.dacandalisha.com/blog). Even though I'm the one that writes those posts too, it is still meant to be for both of us and be very photography-related. This however, is simply my blog about our life, all from my point of view. Another plus? I don't have to worry about whether the pictures are edited to perfection! =) So don't have high hopes! I'm sure there will always be some overlap between the two blogs but I'll try to keep them fairly separate.

Here, I plan to talk about all kinds of things. From my thoughts on life, goals, what we did last weekend, our house progress, and much more. While the photography blog will continue to showcase recent weddings and photo sessions, our business news, etc...
